Ministry of Justice raises probate fees

As from 1 May 2024 the ministry of justice has increased the fee for obtaining a grant of representation by approximately 10% from £273 to £300.    It has long been speculated that this year would bring a significant fee increase, the fee having last been increased in 2022.  This will apply for all applications where the value of the estate exceeds £5,000.
